What is SEO? SEO stands for search engine optimization and is the process of optimizing, or maximizing your webpages, and the linking structure of other webpages, which link to your webpage in such a way that the search engines give you higher rankings for your chosen keywords.

Why Is SEO So Important?

So why is SEO so important? Millions of people daily search for information on the search engines. For any given search term, there are anywhere from a few hundred to a few million search results that reference that given search term. Generally speaking, the search results are designed to be ranked in the order of their relevance to the searcher’s search term, or keyword (or keyword phrase).

Most people, when searching for a keyword or keyword phrase, will click on one of top 10 search results on the first page of the search results, or will initiate another search. Therefore in order to gain a reasonable amount of search engine traffic, a website should appear in the top 10 search results for a given keyword. Given the fact that there are for some keywords millions, literally millions of websites having some relevance to the keyword, it can often be a difficult feat, if not almost impossible, to get your webpage in the first 10 search results for a given keyword.

However, by learning the techniques by which the search engines decide which webpages should show in the top 10 search results of a given keyword or keyword phrase, and by optimizing your Web site, in such a way that your website outperforms other websites or webpages in the search engines algorithms, you can literally send your website or webpage to the top 10 search results in the search engines, surpassing many other webpages and websites, if you know what to do.

Many of the guidance, tutorials and information on SEO, in my opinion, are overloaded with far too much detail, and multiple things to do to obtain good search engine rankings without indicating which few of those things to do are actually relevant and necessary to get the top 10 search engine rankings. My personal opinion is that the reason for this is that most of the producers of SEO information are geared towards selling SEO products, software, and advanced tools. By making SEO out to be something very difficult for the average webmaster to perform, it makes their products, software and advanced tools more salable.

However, I believe that SEO can be done in the average webmaster or the average Internet Web business owner with relatively little effort, if the basic tools are understood.

In the past, I have avoided writing on the SEO topic, because in a lot of ways it deviates for my specialization, which is list building an article marketing. However, I am appalled at the lack of good SEO information and have therefore decided to write this short book to teach you what I have learned in the last six months that has enabled me to drive massive traffic to various websites and webpages.

Do you want to learn more about how I do it? I have just completed my brand new guide to article marketing success, ‘Your Article Writing and Promotion Guide’

Design

Website design and SEO, or search engine optimization, go hand-in-hand from the initial conception of a website. Often, many business owners don’t think they should consider SEO until after their website is completed. This simply isn’t true. Not only should an SEO website design appeal to your target audience. It should also be structured for the search engines as well. These simple one-time elements, or on-page factors, can act as a bonus to your search engine rankings once your site is live.

When you first start mapping out your website design, you’ll need to focus on some specific factors to increase its visibility on the search engines. For starters, you’ll need to determine the prime domain name for your site. It’s always best to include your keywords within the domain of your website. For example, if you sell widgets, you would want your focused keyword phrase for widgets within your website domain. Your chances of getting noticed by the search engines for your top keywords are certainly increased if they are already within your name!

Next, focus on the keywords you want to target within the body and headlines of your text. Be sure your keyword research includes words or phrases that are known to convert versus those that are just informational searches. You can conduct your keyword search by using keyword research tools. To find new keyword ideas, use Google’s Keyword Tool. These converting keywords are known as longer-tail keywords.

Consider the density of these keywords within your text and pages of your website as well. Please do not stuff your website with keywords. Not only is this not acceptable by the search engines, but it is certainly not pleasing to your prospective customers who are your reason for wanting to host a quality website in the first place. A good rule of thumb is to include your phrase or keywords within every 100 words or so of website copy. Just make sure it has a natural flow.

Also, verify that your website pages aren’t too large or take too long to load. If possible, try to keep your file size for each page under 100K. A recent indication is that search engines are also ranking websites by their page speed.

Last, and certainly not least, is the relevance of your content. Arm your site with quality content that is not only original, but also relevant and informative to the end-user. Quality content is essential within the parameters of website design and SEO. Another interesting note is that the search engines tend to prefer older sites, but those with fresher content. So, once your site is live, make sure you are continually updating it with quality, fresh content.

Chances are, if you’ve hired a website SEO design professional, they are already ensuring these elements are in place. However, you’ll want to be armed with the knowledge and information of the basics of website design and SEO. This will save you time, money, and valuable rankings in the future!

When you have a great web design, you need to justify it with good a good search ranking, something you can do with an SEO company that actually brings tangible benefits in the form of traffic and conversions. Of course, you need to hire the best SEO company to obtain the best SEO results.

SEO

Nowadays, more and more companies are turning to the web for their promotion. It is hard to many to see exactly how to start.

To start with, you need to set up a well-made website. It is important that your web presence is a true representation of your business. The appearance of the website only must look professional and have easy navigation for its visitors. However, once it has been polished, the job is not done.

There can be only so much done by the blueprint of the page. This may match what your target audience is looking for, but it may not be enough to get them to visit your website. Now for the real challenge! Get your audience to look at your website! SEO (search engine optimization) is the very best way to do this.

You probably already know that search engines are extremely effective in getting traffic to a website. Their traffic funneling ability is incomparable. Keeping this in the forefront of your thoughts, it should be clear that search engine visibility is very important if you want your website to do well.

Search Engine Optimization is a set of rules that is determined by the search engines themselves. To achieve excellent search rankings within Yahoo, Google, and Bing, master keyword usage and create a tough link profile.

However, this view is extremely simple. The first thing to think about is links. Make no guesses regarding this. You must do your homework to know what kind of links you want. Different elements displayed on web pages are both complex and abundant. A lot is involved in the management of a thriving website SEO plan. Remember, search engines can be picky. They aren’t indiscriminate in assigning rank – they require that websites prove their worth. It is the time for SEO to shine!

Follow the laws of the search engines, and you will see the ranking results you want very quickly. First things first! Be sure you know what phrases you want to optimize before you begin. The first thing you should do is keyword research.

Take the time to figure out how much competition you will have with a given keyword and how much traffic it may generate. This will help you avoid being stuck at the bottom of Google searches for months on end. At the start of your SEO campaign, it is a good idea to target key terms that don’t already have a lot of competition. You can bypass established competition with this method. If you get these easier rankings right away, you will start getting noticed. After that, you should start getting some traffic.

Now is when you should begin to think about those two important foundations of SEO – your link profile and the content of your page. You can tell how strong a site is by the kind of inbound links it displays. When people trust you, they place links on your site. This lets search engines know that other sites feel confident in sending you traffic. That is why it is important to have good, unique content on your pages. It is valuable to your visitors and helps search engines know how to rate you. They obtain a great volume of data from content, then utilize this to assign a ranking.

By creating a good link profile and generating pertinent, unique content for your pages, you will have a good start for your SEO adventure. You will see an improvement in your search engine placement as your changes take effect and your pages are indexed and re-indexed.

Unfortunately, though, this is unavoidable. In order to gain high visibility on Google, it is necessary to perform SEO. It may be complicated, and it may take a little while to do it properly. It is a lot of effort. This is why quite a few businesses simply hire a Professional SEO Agency to do this job. It is possible for a website to gain the advantage of instant technical optimization with no effort. Conserving resources is another benefit, since you’ll be able to save time and money.

If you want your website to have a strong online presence, you have to pay attention to search engines and their uses. If you want to thrive on Google, you must use SEO. This could make all the difference in the world.
